Prep Sport

Sport plays a very important role in the Prep School. Our pupils are stretched and challenged in a wide range of sporting activities as part of the curriculum and extra-curricular clubs.

We benefit from the use of the Senior School sports hall, and what sets us apart from other Prep. Schools is the vast amount of land and outdoor space available for our children to use. We host cross country events for other schools across the area.

At Stafford Prep we value participation, and we encourage all of our pupils to get involved. Our pupils have great fun and experience a real sense of teamwork, whilst also developing their skills and enjoying the benefits of an active and healthy lifestyle.

Our sports are: netball, hockey, rounders, football, tennis, badminton, cricket, athletics. We also play a range of ‘big’ games to support the skills required that are a lot of fun, including dodgeball, bench ball, Capture the flag, mat rounders and War Zone. Every other year we raise money for the NSPCC by participating in a fun relay event in the sports hall.

We have achieved ISA Midlands champion status in football, netball, hockey, cricket and rounders. Locally we have achieved many titles and gone on to County rounds to represent Stafford.

We have a very active ski team with children from all age groups involved. Training takes place on a local dry ski slope with days especially for children at Stafford Grammar School. Our children have achieved success in competitions both here and abroad.

Children can sign up for individual tennis tuition with the potential to progress from to a dedicated performance group.

We have a dance studio where children can take part in dance club as well as individual or paired dance lessons with qualified dance teachers. They can choose between ballet, tap, street or hip hop. Small dance showcases are presented to the parents and the children enter national competitions.
